How To Make Cannabis Infused Ice Cream
Making cannabis infused ice cream is actually alot easier than it sounds! You actually don’t need an ice cream maker. I’m a believer that less is more, and I try to keep my kitchen appliances to a minimum (also because counter space is hot real estate!). If you have a Vitamix blender, or any powerful blender, you can make ice cream! And if you don’t have a blender, as long as you have an electric whisk you’ll be able to make a creamy homemade ice cream. And if you don’t have an electric whisk, I mean it’s technically possible to just churn with your hands… but I don’t recommend it.
In this recipe, I used coconut cream instead of regular cow’s milk cream, but you can use any type of cream you’d like! I personally used coconut cream because I don’t do that well with dairy. The coconut cream also adds a light nutty flavour to the ice cream!
To make the ice cream infused, I used my Ardent Fx to decarboxylate dried cannabis flower, and then infused the coconut cream. Once that was done, I blended up the coconut cream with cocoa powder, dates, vanilla extract, and almond milk to create the ice cream. I blended it enough so that it was well churned. I then added it to a glass container and froze it for an entire day. The Ardent made the infusion process super easy, and I highly recommend this device! Ingredients and Substitutions
Coconut Cream: You can use regular cows milk heavy cream to make your ice cream. Use coconut cream for a vegan and dairy free option.
Almond Milk: You can use any type of dairy free milk or regular milk. The purpose of this ingredient is to thin out the coconut cream.
Vanilla Extract: As always, I recommend using real vanilla extract and not the artificial one. It is going to be more expensive but it’s worth it and you don’t need to use that much!
Dates: I used pitted dates because I like the taste and texture. You can use any type of sweetener of choice.
